Price Drops!
Wow! While most of the world boosted their prices, to meet the cost of rising raw material Canada’s remained the same or, in quite a few cases, was lowered to bring them in line with the Global Pricing Strategy. In English that means that those cool low prices in the US are no longer that attractive. For example, our Battleforces and Battalion Boxes went from $130 to $105; most of the plastic regiment/squad boxes went from $45 to $40; many tanks dropped as well. Come in and check us out!
Winter Waaagh!
The Orks are on the move! Two massive Ork forces are making their way from the East and West Coasts towards the centre of Canada. The two warbosses will taking on all-comers on their way and will then slug it out to see who is the bestest warboss ever. The Ork horde will swing by Surrey on Saturday October 11th. Come to fight with them or against them. 4000 points of Orks will be showing up so we have started a sign up list for those wishing to oppose them. The first 10 people to sign up will be able to bring in 400 points to join up against the Orks. The remainder will be able to play on the Ork side. Don’t delay sign up now to ensure you have a place!!
Warhammer 40,000 6 Hour War
Be one of the 10 customers to come in beforeThursday September 4th and pre-pay your Warhammer 40,000 starter set and the GW Staff will assemble and prime one of the two forces for you. Then you can sit down Saturday September 6th and spend 3 hours painting your force before joining in the ‘uge mega battle that afternoon starting at 2:00 pm!
Summer’s Almost Over (did it ever start here?)
Summer is almost done, which for you Vancouverites means you won’t have to endure the ugly weather anymore because winter should be moving into Spring anytime soon. Junuary and Julyber were terrible for suntanning but awesome for building armies! Read more…
Midnight Tournament - 40k release!

Included in this is: Space Marine Commander, 5 terminators, 10 tactical marnies, 1 dreadnaught, Ork Warboss, a tonne of Ork Boyz, 5 Nobz, and 3 Deffkoptas!
mk III, High Elf Mania
So now that my Night Goblins are on Display at Games Workshop Surrey I believe that my High Elves should recieve some much deserved “always strike first” attention.
My High Elves are in the pre-painting stage, their all undercoated and ready to go. However for the colour scheme I am needing the help of everyone as they will either be a Red and white, or an Orangey-yellow with white. I have test models in the store now, so come on in and cast your vote for which model you’d like to see turn into an army!
In the collecting aspect of the Hobby I strongly recomend any player to invest in the High Elf Battalion. As this come with all the core you are going to need in 2000 points and also fills in one special and one rare choice as well! Add in a Hero Box and a Mage Box and you’ve got all your characters done! With the different force organization that is available to High Elves you can buff out your 2000 point army with 6 Special choices and 4 Rares. This means 4 Bolt throwers, potentially! Thats a meager 24, strength 4 shots, hitting on 3+ most times!
And you ask.. Greg you told me what to do with my Rare choices now what the heck am I supposed to do with 6 Special choices! well luckily for you I can see into the future and will answer that question! With 6 Special choices I would take at least one Lion Chariot of Chrace for 140 points; you get impact hits, and then 4 strength 5 Lion attacks, and 2 strength 4 crew attacks. All but the most Elite Units will crumble under this terrible power. Another fine selection from the Special Section is the Dragon Princes of Caledor as a small unit of 5 is often enough, as each model gets 2 attacks with lances! 2 units of Dragon Princes on either flank will prove deadly in any game. Being a big fan of heavy hitting units another key Special Unit is the Sword Masters, with 2 attacks each with great weapons that always strike first; none shall stand before the might of the Sword Masters! And my last Special choice is the Shadow Warriors for 92 points you get a scouting unit that proves to be quite the effictive March-blocker.
As you can do all sorts of crazy choices with Lords and Heroes in the High Elf army book, come on into Games Workshop Surrey if you want to hear some of the combos I like to use.
And onto the last selection… CORE! I prefer to use Spearmen, as fighting in 3 ranks is very hard to pass up, and with a solid 4 bolt throwers you already have a strong shooting phase. If you want to include Archers I strongly reccomend you use the Lothern Sea Guard, as they double as spearmen if the board your playing on doesn’t supply enough hills for all the shooting you want to use.
Finally, Check out the Vox Casters!! They’re AWESOME! and in case this didn’t fill your need of High Elf Knowledge, Episode 8 of the Vox Casters offers a plethora of knowledge for all ears!

Post Games Day
So I’m back from Games Day Canada - what a hoot! You can ask the Mitsuis about their experience but from what I could see, it was amazing! For those who missed out, try the WestCoast Mayhem in October or save up your loonies and go to Toronto next year -it will be even better, I promise!
The Sneak Peek at Assault on Black Reach (new 40K starter box) was astounding! The quality is superb and the models are many. There were also some special edition figures that included a Space Wolf with lightning claws charging forward…hmmmmm. The Golden Demon Painting competition was a delight to the eyes. Our very own Jason Bergunder was a finalist with his Eldar Autarch. Yours truly pulled off a Gold for the Staff Single Model and a Silver in the Staff Large Model categories. Come in and see the models in the Surrey store.
The gaming tables were all incredible! Zombies fighting Arbites in Cities of Death (seeing the poor police succumbing to the Zombie infection and turning on their comrades was hilarious). The tyranid table with the huge digestion pools that pulsed with green light was also a delight. There were too many to mention but check out the GW website to see more.

Alrighty Sports fans, We’ve got a pretty special event for the release of 5th edition 40,000!
Since, as most of you know, we are located in a mall, Richmond store cannot run the midnight madness event published in White Dwarf #26 (Don’t worry, it’ll be out soon…). Due to this rather unseemly issue, we (and by we I mean me!) have come up with a solution!!!
A Pre-Release Apocalypse game and a 2v2 Doubles Tournament!!!
On June 11th we will be hosting a MASSIVE Apocalypse battle starting at noon and running straight through untill 8pm!
Space will be limited (10 slots only), so sign up fast!
and on the 12th, to celebrate the release of the new system, we will be hosting a 2v2 Doubles tournament. It’s do or die, with only 1(yep, ONE!) game beiong played per opponent, 4 rounds total. Again space will be limited (10 teams only, 20 people total.) so get in and sign up!
Prizes will be awarded to the winning team and the best painted army!

June Events - Surrey
This weekend the new Mordor Source book comes out for Lord of the Rings players! The ultimate “baddie” book, pretty much anyone can ally with Mordor and they have some wicked stuff. Black Numenoreans, baby! A catapult that can attack Courage and a troll drummer that can reduce your enemy’s courage means that Minas Tirith now has Defence 2!!! Ha!
Also out this weekend is the new Spray Gun. Pick one up and get those tanks, monsters, horde armies basecoated whichever colour you want. We will run a clinic for those who buy a spray gun so that they can use it with confidence.
The 28th features a painting competition where you bring in your model and brushes and you can only use our Foundation Paints and Citadel Washes to do the best job you can. You have from 11:00 to 5:00 to complete the model.
