Richmond Center

Name: Owen Curtis
Location: Richmond - Assistant Manager
About:
Greetings! My name is Owen Curtis and I am the store manager. Fifteen years ago my buddy introduced me the world of Games Workshop and nothing has been quite the same since. Over the years I have fought on many battles fields from the far future to the olde world, from rainy Vancouver to humid Toronto. All that time I have continued to build and paint armies.

If you need any help building or painting I’m your man. If you need any help understanding the rules I’m your man. If you need a fool proof plan to smash your foe then you might want to talk to one of the vets…

Armies Collected: Almost all of them
Armies Painted: Not nearly enough

Games Played: Too many to count
Games Won: Not enough to remember

Now stop reading this boring bio and pick up a paint brush or a pair clippers or stuff your army in your case and get on down to store!!!

Come in and see what I am working on now!

Surrey

Name: Dave Clark
Location: Surrey - Manager
About: (Major) Dave has been an uber-obsessed hobbyist since discovering Games Workshop in 1997. He whetted his appetite as an Outrider for five years and wanted more. So much so, he retired from the Army after 20 years and took a position with the Sunridge Hobby Centre in Calgary in 2003. After moving to Montreal to set up the two stores there, he moved West to BC in 2006 and took over the Surrey store.
Major Dave has collected most every game system released by GW since discovering the hobby. His favorite armies for Warhammer Fantasy are Empire, Dwarfs, and his newly revived Vampire Counts. He also has a Skaven Eshin army (who can say “no” to a night-fighting, shuriken-throwing, all-skirmish army?) that he brings out for fun once in a while.
My latest army is the now-finished Eldar Army. I painted the 1700 points in 10 weeks as part of the Paint or Die Challenge in 2008. My Sisters of Battle army is no longer the biggest army, that is now my IG closely followed by my Black Templars.
My Lord of the Rings armies are a mix of a variety of Evil (Harad, Barad Dur, Dol Guldur) forces. My Good army is a solid 1000 points of Dwarves.

Jen

Name: Jen Aspden
Location: Surrey - Full-Time
About:I’m Jennifer (Jen) Aspden, the one known around the store as “the girl with the baby” or “the Bretonnian player who is lucky with the dice”. I’ve only been playing Warhammer since about April 2006, however I spend more time involved with this hobby than any of the other hobbies I have (other than my son and my husband). I love the painting aspect most and figure I haven’t had a good game if I didn’t learn something new or laugh with my opponent(s).
This was the game that really caught my attention. I read and write Fantasy books and stories myself so the world of the Faerie with all the creatures therein is like a second home to me. My first army HAD to be Wood Elves and I frequently field my forest spirits led by Drycha or an Ancient, but my true love for Fantasy has to be my Bretonnian army. I have modeled my army to portray a fairly realistic medieval army complete with peasant infantry, archers and cavalry units supported by artillery, each bearing the individual heraldry of his Lord.
I honestly refused to come within 10 feet of 40K until challenged to compete in Paint or Die 2. Being who I am, I could not refuse that challenge and proceeded to paint 1700 points of Blood Angels (in less than half the allotted time) which I now use almost as often as my Bretonnians. My first army was supposed to be Sisters of Battle but they now adorn a shelf in one of my display cases at home and eagerly await the day I tire of Lemartes and Mephiston (which I cannot see happening in the near future).
Loving the forest spirits of Fantasy, you might guess (correctly) that I have a Fangorn army with Treebeard and his Ent companions; however, I also have their Minas Tirith allies along with the many characters from the Fellowship. LOTR has not been a major focus for me as a player until recently (when I was again challenged to a Paint or Die) and now I am quickly learning the snags and snarls of Middle Earth
